课外活动的重要性
课外活动在美国大学申请中占据举足轻重的地位。美国大学很希望知道它所录取的人是谁，了解学生的人品和个性，某种意义上说是美国大学重视学生的德智体全面发展。所以，美国大学除了重视学生分数之外，对学生课外活动尤为关心，希望通过申请者的课外活动了解一个学生的沟通能力、学习动机、学习态度、团队精神、社会意识及个性的特征。
但并不是说，每个的申请者都必须要有出色的重大的社会活动经验，并在其中扮演重要的角色。事实上，每一个课外活动本身并无重要不重要之分，学校更看重的是学生在这个活动中扮演了什么样的角色，在这个活动中做了什么，有哪些收获、反思和成长。

Why do extra-curricular activities?
Extra-curricular activities play a large role in a student’s college application. American universities want to know the type of people they’re accepting — they want to ensure that a student’s personality, interests, morals and mission align well with the school’s. Extra-curricular activities also provide opportunities for students to strengthen their communicative and learning skills, ability to work on a team, and overall social awareness.
That being said, applicants don’t need to have a long list of extracurriculars where they assume all responsibility for everything in order to get into college. Instead, admission committees are more focused on what the applicant has done, and how the applicant has learned and grown from these experiences.
树英基金
2013年4月树英基金（DTR Foundation）成立了。这是由树英学会投入资金，且由树英的学生们自发组织和管理的非营利项目。设立这个专项基金的最大目的就是为了帮助上海以及其他地区的高中生完成一些属于他们自己的梦想。
树英基金主要负责各个树英活动的资金支持，每年我们有10万的费用来帮助树英以及上海的高中生完成他们18岁的梦想。与此同时，我们会发掘有意义的学生活动，为大家的兴趣发展搭建平台，并且学习天使基金的运作模式，让参与基金活动的同学发掘自己对商业、项目运作与管理的兴趣。2013年至今，树英基金已支持过树英T-Shirt创业设计大赛、两届高中生摇滚慈善演唱会、树英Career等项目。
DTR Foundation
In 2013, we created the DTR Foundation to provide funds for supporting our students’ many extra-curricular activities. We want students to be able to pursue any activity without worrying about financing.
Every year we spend up to 100,000￥ to help Shuying and Shanghai high school students achieve their 18 year-old dreams. At the same time, we discover meaningful extra-curricular activities, and invest in them as an angel investor would. This way, the DTR Fund also provides an opportunity for students to discover their interest in finance and investing. The DTR Fund has supported events such as the OWE Charity Rock Concert and Teach for Shanghai.

树英SEED，树英ers梦想萌芽的地方。在这里，树英ers可以尽情探索树英提供的大量丰富的活动资源，在一次次的实践中探索自己独一无二的巨大潜力和可能性。
树英SEED录属于树英学会，是树英人的活动资源库。我们提供了实习、志愿者以及学生自发团体等各类活动资源，分类呈现。

SEED Activity Center
Shuying’s Activity Center, also known as Seed, is a place for students to explore different extra-curricular options. We provide the resources, but it’s up to the students to take advantage of them. Through these activities, students can unlock their full potential and find their passion.
We offer a variety of internships, volunteer work and independent student-led organizations.
